Area Growers Join Forces to Open Market

Open air farmers market starts second season at Town Center in
Robbinsville giving area residents -- a healthy boost

ROBBBINSVILLE: Area residents will now be able to get their workweek off to a healthy start with the  opening of the Robbinsville Farm Market this Monday, June 20, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Robbinsville Farmers Market will bring together a host of local purveyors of fresh goods, all in one centrally located space on the southeast corner of Town Center. The open-air market will feature farm fresh produce, herbs and eggs, field fresh flowers, local honey, pickles, cupcakes and scones, dried fruits and nuts,  fresh bakery goods --even treats for your four legged friends.

The marketplace will provide a level of farm-to-table freshness not readily available so close to home before. Although surrounded by a booming community of small farms, the area lacked a convenient outlet for people to take advantage of its own rich farmland. In the past, residents had to drive to markets in outlying areas or spend precious weekend time heading to urban farm markets.

But starting this Monday -- and continuing every Monday afternoon throughout the summer -- area residents will have easy access to a wide variety of farm fresh products right at their doorstep.

From 3 pm to 8 pm every Monday, the market will take use of the Town Center parking lot, thanks to Sharbell Development Corp.’s Tom Troy. It is located on the corner of Route 33 and Robbinsville-Edinburg Road, across from the south end of Town Center. The centralized location gives shoppers convenient access to parking and within walking distance for Town Center residents.

And taking advantage of all those fresh fruits and veggies will not only keep physical bodies strong and healthy but will keep the local economy strong and healthy as well, by giving farmers and local goods marketers a new and sustainable outlet for their goods.

So start your week off right and enjoy some of New Jersey’s most delicious natural resources--straight from the field to your table—at the Robbinsville Farmers Market
